I have finally gotten my new tripod. Finally. I got the Manfrotto 3021PRO tripod and the Manfrotto 3047 head. Its awesome. My first professional grade tripod. Makes my Promaster 6100 (while nice) seem flimsy.

Hi, The 3021 must be a US name for the tripod. I have just orderd the 190CL ( not sure of the head unit yet)
Do Manfrotto have other names for there gear ?

Cheers

190Pro is 3001Pro in the USA, so you, probably, ordered one of the tripods from 3001 series.

The tripod I posted for sale, is the 3021B (B for Black I believe) Pro version...

Brad: That's the same exact combination tripod and head I got a few weeks ago except I got the 3021B. I also bought the case for it. I quickly found out that the head will not fit into the case without unscrewing all the handles.

So now, I'm seriously consdering this head:

Encouraged by all the positive remarks about the quality of these particular tripods, I 'took the plunge' today and ordered mine.
Since I prefer my gear to be sturdy but also compact and light (so as to have it actually WITH me when I need it),
I ordered the Manfrotto 190 BWB Tracker (2,2 kg) and the Manfrotto 460MG or Bogen 3437 head (0,4 kg).
That's a 100 Euro/kilogram tripod.
How am I going to motivate this purchase to my lovely but very bright wife, let me see....
Let's try a comparison:
An absolutely decent, safe and functional 1,500 kg car will cost about 30,000 Euro, that's 20 Euro/kilogram.
What (Italian make of) car will cost about 100 Euro/kilogram?
And does anybody NEED one?
.......
Oh dear, I'll have come up with something else.... quickly!
