I'm not really looking for advice here, but just thought I'd share my news.

While sitting in the library of my university, I was handed a flyer looking for audtions for a fashion show being held by one of the campus clubs. Now, I'm no model, so I threw it aside. Then, I looked over at it, and though: fashion show... photographer. Maybe they need one?

So, I send off a quick email to the organizers, and I'm delighted with the reponse that they could use me.

Fast forward to last night. The organizers and I have a meeting to discuss how I can help them. I'll basically be responsible for advertisements for the show, as well as photography on the day of. I've also been told I'll be allowed ot have a booth at the show if I like, to take, and sell photos to those participating.

For all but the very last thing I mentioned, I'm stoked. I'm pretty sure I can pull off the booth thing, but that will definitely require alot of prepping on my part. The show's in March, though, so I think I have plenty of time, should I decide to do that part.

So I'm not really posting this thread for advice, but what do you guys think?

I personally think that's fantastic. Good luck with it all and I hope you make a small name for yourself that turns into a big one.

Agree with the sentiments above. At least your 'almost' missed chance turned into something that might give you a big break. Publicity is good in any form...so, don't get too psyched up, once the time comes. Just relax, enjoy, and take some pictures. Good luck!!!
