Hi Again this photo has been passed on by a friend, I have tried to do something with the background creases but where the fabric meets the hands it's just not looking realistic.... any one help?
I will crop the floor out at the front once I get something more realistic.

Kinda makes them look like they are floating, and the one on the right is comming out of the floor. I have found that it can be quite easy to go a bit overboard with the lens blur, but a little usually goes a long way.

Great Idea for composition. Maybe a tighter crop would look good aswell.

You are suffering from "Nasty Blur Halo Itis"

In between what you posted and what was posted as an alternative ... try this. Make a dupe layer. Use the healing brush on the worst wrinkles. If you go too far, or make a mistake, you can add a layer mask to correct it.
Now merge the layers and add another dupe layer. Use Guassian Blur now ... but sparingly. Add a layer mask in reveal all and paint out where you don't want it.
On the pose ... I think it would have worked better if he actually was kissing his cheek instead of about to ... OR ... if he had his head a bit higher as if he were whispering in his ear.

You could try the Lens Blur and gaussian blur with a mask, you don't want the blur to be the the same all the way through to the back as it will look too unnatural, as it seems to here
Extract the two figures to a new layer and lens blur the background. Make sure you remove the two figures from the background layer, or use the patch tool or stamp tool to over write them. Otherwise the blur from them will appear beneath. Use the stamp tool to get rid of the crease around the hand on the guy on the left.
EDIT - Ah Rad, I've read your thread! Great technique. Also, a little attention to the detail when taking the shot (something to pass on) pays PP dividends :-)
