Now, i don't drink, but my parents were about to throw this out and i thought it might look cool in a picture, so i shot it. Taken in RAW @ 1/40, f/5.6, and 800 ISO.

I think the picture doesn't show enough of the bottle and is a bit too dark..

That's the effect i was going for though, sort of rustic, dark, and mysterious.

I'd like to see some background on the left hand side of the shot

Great idea! I think it might have worked better if you had used a really shallow DOF instead of making the background too dark to see.. I think it'd be more mysterious to have an OOF background, rather than none at all.. and I'd love to see it in B/W too.

I'm always envious of people like you who come up with these neat ideas.. I'm just not that original!
