My friends have recently moved into their new house, a barn conversion. For Christmas, they asked me if I could enlarge and enhance an old photo of the barn to go in a frame which is 11"x14".

I've scanned the image at a quality which has given me a resolution of 229 PPI, which I think should be fine, now here's the tricky bit. Where on earth can I get this printed in the UK, bearing in mind that it's an awkward size and I need the image printed, with the border, without any cropping?

Google "uk pro lab" (without the quotes), or put your city in. Just about any lab can do it, they'll just print it on the next size paper up and trim it down.

Just drag the 11x14" image onto a standard larger canvas that your local lab prints, flatten the image and upload it to your printer of choice, when you get the print cut off the extra white around your 11x14 image.

Edit: If you want the white border thats in the image above fill your larger background canvas with a color so you will know where to cut around your white boarder.

Gosh! i love this forum ... always learning something new ...

Haven't got into much printing yet ... but that is a good idea about coloring the unwanted area for trimming ....

..... and that barn!

Wish I could find an affordable one like that on this side of the pond!

..... the potential ... :-)
