I've recently purchased a Canon EOS350D SLR and am very happy with it, but can anyone within the forum tell me how to select infinity focus on the camera? There seem to be no visible icons on the lens' and the manual does not tell me how to achive this? I'm desperate for advice!

Sounds like you need to sit down and study the priciples of photography. Specifically you need to be able to understand the relationship between aperture size and depth of field.

But, the quick answer is...throw it in Av mode and select the smallest possible aperture (highest number).

Like i said, I bought it recently and am getting acquired with the camera, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance. Thanks for the advice - that's why I asked!

unlike P&S cameras where lens elements can be moved to provide macro capabilities, slr lenses cannot do this (lens elements only move for zooming and focusing, but there is only one possible configuration at each focal length and distance (most p&s cameras can superimpose normal shooting in macro mode, but infinity is lost).
