I want to remove the 3 phone line shadows. Is there a better, or easier way than cloning them out piece by piece? I have Elements 2 and PS 7.

To my eye, the green branch is more distracting than the phone lines.

I think your stuck with a "piece by piece" approach using either the clone tool (set mode to "lighten" and opacity to ~50%), the healing brush (again, lighten mode) or patch tool. The patch tool will allow you to do some work on some areas quickly. But most of the effort will still be devoted to detailed cloning and/or healing small portions.

BTW - what's wrong with the shadows? I don't find them objectionable.

There is another way.

Go back and reshoot the image.

Use a reflector to cast light upon the sign. This may not completely eradicate the shadows, but it should minimize them.

You could also use some sort of block to completely prevent the shadow lines, which of course would replace them with a solid shadow.

Then you could use your reflector to cast "clean" light upon the sign.

This is actually a small piece of a much larger image. I cloned out the actual wires from the sky, which made these shadows non-sensical. I understand your objection on the branch, but, when viewed as a full image, they are much less offensive. Thanks for your reply.

Got it.

I've cloned out a few telephone wires ... very tedious work! No Photoshop plugins I know of to do the job for you :).

Happy cloning (and sailing too).

It may not be successful, but you could try to burn in the shadows. Likely easiest is just meticulas use of the clone (or healing) tool.

Much better option is to reshoot at a different time of day so there is no shadows at all to remove (if that's doable...) :)
