I noticed that the camera (eos 30d) records the number of pictures it has taken on the file image as the last digits. This is stored on the camera, kinda like a mileage odometer, as I formatted the chip and it continued where it left off. Is it possible to reset this number? I think my reseller cheated me with a used product as it started in the 70s. example filename is img_0075.jpg

75 images is really nothing considering the rating on the shutter is about 100,000. I certainly wouldn't consider it cheating.

It's quite likley that a portion of those were test shots, or maybe your seller took it out of the box once or twice to show someone at the store, which is hardly 'cheating.' Have you ever bought shoes in the store? Tried some on, then decided you didn't like them, and given them back? What do you suppose they do with those 'slightly worn' shoes?

Yes, but the item was purchased from an internet retailer without a kiosk. I would reccomend that folks avoid zipzoomfly despite the decent price.
