I just bought a Lenmark battery charger, and a Duracell at battery for my G3 at Curcuit City
The battery was mismarked for 49.99
The Lenmark charger was on sale for 59.99
The charger came with a car adapter also
A great price
Now , the question is , is it safe to use the duracell battery (511) in my G3.

I would trust it.
There are some super cheap "511" type batts on E-bay that are a real crap shoot.. but the Duracell is a name i would certainly trust. I have some Lenmar and Powerex "511s" that I use in my 10D.. and they outlast the Canon battery.. I've used them for very close to a year now.
The Lenmar speed charger is nice too! :)

I've been reading that using speed chargers will shorten battery life. Has anyone had this experience with the Lenmar charger?

Too late now, but I would have waited. Take a look at the Pro-1's new charger. Its a stand-alone unit (no cords) that plugs directly into the wall outlet. I'm sure you'll be able to buy it separately soon.

I have not heard that the Lenmar Speedcharger will shorten battery life. I have been using mine for about a year and have not noticed any difference in usage time.

Actually,. the good chargers.. like the Mach1 speedcharger,. have circuitry in them that condition the battery as they charge,. they are in fact much better for the life of the battery than a slow witted "trickle charger"
You should hget both longer use between charges than a trickle charger and more recharges over the life of the battery.
The Canon chargers that come with the 10D have the circuitry as well.. and are by no means "trickle chargers".. they are still quite fast.
