Nothing much to connect these other than the camera body and the fact that they're about to be deleted from my hard drive and consigned to the archive. Different lens with each one.

I like #2. Nice job of panning.

Well I'm guessing that #1 is with the 500mm, and #3 is with the 120-300mm. As for #2, I'm not sure.

I like #3 a lot. Classic mk II Escort pose (on opposite lock), but what makes the picture (for me anyway) is the fact that you can see the crew - co-driver with his head down in his pace notes, and the driver getting that opposite dialed in. All in all a great rally shot.

Cheers,

Simon.

I really like "Mister Marty" in the Eagle. The car is gorgeous and it is an excellent capture.

Something along those lines, yes. Looks like they've managed to find the reset switch now... clever NTL:

3 fantastic photos.

LOL - if I took pix like these they wouldn't ever get archived. I'd roll them out at every opportunity!

Crisp, clear and very well executed. Thanks for letting us see them before they disappeared.

#2: Love the colors & it might make a great tight crop?
#3: I had a navigator like that years ago. His head only came up if we were going sideways, say "Nice drift, Turkey!", & his head would go back down. Nothing ever seemed to bother him which was a great quality in a Nav! :D

Cheers Skip. The Eagle F5000 is a lovely car and one of the fastest in the field. Unfortunately the driver (one Judy Lyons - her husband "organises" the series) is soooo slow she's about 20 seconds off the pace. You could probably beat her round Silverstone in your road car. It really is a crying shame.

Number 2 - hummm in a Homer with a doughnut sort of a hummmmmm :D

Today I'll be bored - I have to try and find a hotel within 100 miles of Taupo that isn't already booked for the A1GP :o

A lot of this isn't about being competitive, it's about having fun with the experience.
Of course it is more fun if you are competitive.:-)

First one is the 500mm for sure, the next two look like the work of the 120-300 :)

True enough... but she is so far off the pace that she's a hazzard. More of a mobile chicane than competitor. Even the other drivers are complaining about her...

The only justice was one race during the Silverstone Classic this year. Her husband who also drives an F5000 and is usually up the front somewhere had to start from the back of the grid due to non-finish in the first race. Judy in the Eagle was immediately in front of him. These boys do a rolling start so no overtaking until you cross the start line... She was half the length of the Silverstone pit straight behind even before the start and he wasn't allowed to overtake her whilst the rest of the field howled off into the distance and and she pottered up to the line at a snail's pace. You could almost see the steam rising out of his car's cockpit

ah so that;s what the photos look like. They are ok I guess. ;)

A nice series of photos.

It's a shame that someone is not driving a car to it's limits. What's the point otherwise.

Also like #2. The panning was perfect.
