This is a powerful, fun flash. I've had it 1 week and have used it at a school Christmas party and for outdoor photos with fill flash. I'm no expert and have plenty to learn about flash but for 204.00 this is a killer flash. I hope to learn more and take advantage it.

I have this flash too and it does a very good job however I also purchased a 580EX at a later date and the Canon flash is so much easier to use and better built.

the Sigma is a bargain if you are on a budget but I'd advise buying the 580 if you can afford it. i keep meaning to put my Sigma up for sale here in the UK but i've never got round to it!

The Sigma flashes have been known to work well as substitutes for EX flashes, except when used wirelessly with EX flashes. Then their performance drops off.

I've used the Sigma as slave with the 580EX as a master. never really had problems except I struggled due to lack of lighting knowledge.

Got some nice shots though just playing around.
