Video is on while in Auto shoot mode A70

My brother and I both have PowerShot A70 cameras. We have both been very pleased with them. I decided to find one for my mom since both her 35mm cameras died at about the same time. I bought one used on eBay. camera seems to work as expected with the exception that while in AUTO mode, it is shooting video and not photos. Is there any way of reseting this, or is it just messed up?

Afraid it's just messed up. Are the other modes behaving as expected, or do you possibly find them to be off as well? Maybe Tv doing Av or something?

Everything else works as expected. It takes great pix in the other modes and the video in VIDEO or AUTO mode works good. It's just an inconvenience I guess. Thanks!
