I took this at Kiribilli, Sydney.

Apature: 5.0
Shutter Speed: 8 sec.
ISO: 50

Is this photo dull?

Nice shot and I certainly don't think it dull - the clouds give it a nice moody feel and the light reflections are wonderful on the water.

Great work

Same here but i think the lights are a little too strong. Nice shot.

I really like it for all it's aspects, however I'd probably crop a third of the water so that there's less 'vacant' space on the image

I like it but agree the lights could be a litte dimmer, I wonder what a 6 or 7 sec shot would have looked like.

I have a real problem when it comes to cropping, that is I over look it unless something is really bad for the image. I just can't seem to get the eye needed to know where to crop.

With that said and just my opinion, I like the balance of the sky to the water and would not crop. Any advice!!!!

Should have focused on the bridge more. Oh well...

Dawg,
Isn't cropping actually the same as choosing the composition when you shoot a picture? When you shoot, you select some rectangular area from the world around you.. you apply some rules and intuition to create a nice composition. (At least, that is what we all try every day :D ) When you crop, also you select some rectangular area, but only from a smaller "world", being the original picture. But again this is to create (or improve) a composition.

Very good (non-manipulated?) photo. It's maybe over-exposed a little.

I agree with the crop suggestions - I would take out a little bit of the water at the bottom of the pic - not too much, still want to see the reflections, but the sky combined with the moodiness of the sky is impressive and I like having the bridge off to the right.

I like the shot though - makes me want to visit....
