Thanks for all the good info on this board! I wouldn't have known where to begin otherwise.[/img]

That looks like about a year's worth of house payments. Artistically, your picture is a breathtaking still life that everyone here can certainly admire. The people over in Share Photos and Critique Corner might not be so charitable, though.

Congratulations!

Thos.

Thanks! I don't think my G3 was very happy taking that photo... My wife already said that for my Valentine's present she'll go in on my next lens. Gonna need to play with that 28-135 to see if I need more wide or more tele, right now I'm leaning to the wide end. Hope to have a Sigma 12-24 or the Canon 70-200/4 L shortly thanks to my loving wife.

The 10D is great! It's so much faster and responsive than the G3. Ok, back to pampering the missus.

You're going to love it. Congrats! And good luck with all the new toys. I like the quote above; pretty-much sums it all up.

You know, if I had read the whole thread before responding, I might have noticed that you already pointed out the candle issue. LOL

You're starting to think like me - be afraid. Be very afraid.

Cool stuff. Is Big Ed in there somewhere, I didn't see him. Just a suggestion...He is a good investment, as it makes the camera more balanced in feel with larger lenses and best of all you get another battery slot. Looks like your gonna have a lot of fun shooting pics and I think I speak for the rest of us in that we look forward to seeing some pics! Enjoy the new camera!

That opened cardboard box in the background behind the camera is kinda distracting, could you PLEASE remove it and retake the picture?

THANKS

Photoshop will do my dishes too?!? That alone is worth the cost!

No Big Ed, yet -- it's near the top of the wish list though. All said and done it was about $2800; all from B&H.

I would've spent a little more time getting the composition just right, and that candle would not act straight for the life of me. It was all I could do to get that shot off without getting sideways looks from the wife. In fact, I'd better finish this post while she's still distracted lest I get in trouble.

FWIW, I've decided I'll never be a photographer. The goal now is to learn enough Photoshop that I'll be able to unscrew all my screwed up pictures. I ain't there yet.

Welcome to the club LiquidMantis! :). That's some nice stuff you've got there. Your G3 won't mind at all.

Belmondo; the candle... I'm rolling!.

I'm still in denial about learning photoshop. Rather, I'm lazy and don't want to learn more software. Just a matter of time....

If it's any consolation....I didn't even notice the candle, I was to busy drooling over the rest of the picture.
