I setup my camera for my buddy's wife to shoot. I used ISO 800, probably should have set it to 1600.

Yup, 1600 would have been better...also a tighter crop....

What lens was she using?

i set her up with the 28-135 lens, figured the 70-200L might be too much. it was her first time using my camera. and i agree, she did good work with the 30 second intro to the camera i gave her.
