This was by far the most enjoyable show I have watched in a while, He is really getting up there in age but man what a show he put on. He can do things with his Fender Telecaster that just boggle the mind. Here is just a couple witht he full set here (http://www.z-photography.ca/Concert_pictures/David_Wilcox/).

He is a kind of rock blues and is a ledgend in Canada. Has been around for decades and is releasing a new disk in the new year. Songs like "Do The Bearcat/Bad Apple/That Hypnotizin' Boogie/Downtown Came Uptown/ Bad Reputation/River Boat Fantasy"
Here is his website (http://www.davidwilcoxrocks.com/) you will Do The Bearcat when you go there.
Oh and yes it was quite the show, he has a bassist and drummer and they stay pretty much in the dark the whole show as you can see from the pictures. Had lot of fun there, it was hard to get decent shots as the crowd was huge. There are some pictures I am a couple rows from the stage right in the middle of the crowd and I just put the camera up in the air pointed at him and pulled off three or four shots at a time from different angles. Have to say the crowd was good to me and when I was bumping into them trying to get up front when they saw the camera they would move aside and let me pass forward with comments like "get a good dude". Granted allot of these people are getting used to see me at all the shows now and now what I am doing and why which helps. Even the light guy let me into his booth on the second floor to get some over head shots. Something I found interesting is that he uses a pic that is attached to his thumb, made his playing style very interesting.

These look different than some of your other venue shots...I like these for the general out of camera framing and composition...there is room in all of these for additional trim/crop...the solid light color shirts are a big problem for overexposure...maybe RAW is the solution...good job.

I tried to be a little differnet in the cropping by going a little off centre where I thought it worked. This was one of my usuale clubs but becasue he is a solo artist with a back up band all the light was on him and it was just white. Oh and the pics where taken RAW but if I dropped the exposure to over come the shirts I wold start loosing the face.

Whoa! That dude is some kinda animated! LOL! Some of those facial expressions look like cartoon faces.
Oh, do a blending of exposures. Make one raw for the shirt and one for the face and blend them in PS.

Ya you should have seen him, my first comments was he looked like a mr. magoo bobble head. He would bulge his eyes and then do like a bobble thing with his head. I was laughing so hard I had tears.
Blending of RAW's I never thought of that. Will give it a shot and see what I come up with. thanks

LOL! Mr. Magoo bobble head! LOL! Yeah, I blend exposures all the time. It is not HDR, but more like pulling all you can out of an image.

holy crap, that man has an expressive face! #4 is hillarious, and they all look damn good. I was having the same issue last night while shooting some friends' band with the light colored solid shirts, but ill have to try the RAW blending method to see what comes of that.

He really has a unique look to him. He does have such an expressive face, I could see how a person could just focus shots on the face. But when I look at 1 & 4 (I really like the shot), except for the hint with the guitar strap, I wouldn't know he was a musician. I think that's why I like 2 & 6 the best of the bunch.

Some (#2) strange facial expressions, and some are really blown out. Other then that, nice.
