Hi, I'm disappointed to discover that my new A700 (a replacement for my old A70) does not support Remote Capture. I was looking forward to trying some stop motion animation, for which the remote capture feature is ideal. My old, broken A70 supported this.

Does anyone have any ideas for a work around or know if canon intend to offer a firmware update to add Remote Capture compatability?

I've googled for hours and have found a couple of alternative pieces of software but they will only work on canon cameras that are already RC compatible.

Oh, and I'm using a Mac by the way.

Cheers

Unfortunately, the bottom line is that each of the models Canon chose to "cripple" -- by disabling remote capture support -- is inherently crippled. No external software can overcome this limitation.

In addition to the GraniteBaySoftware link, the breezesys.com site maintains a list of compatible vs crippled powerhot models.
