Daft question I know. In some pictures the 100-400L lens looks to be silver. Is this just my eyes or are there silver ones out there? I ahve only seen whits ones in the flesh as far as I can remember...

i dont know whats up with all this. sometimes you see the lenses as completely pale white and sometimes they are cream/ivory/etc. could somebody explain please?

i have seen pictures of 70-200mm f4/2.8 L online, and they show the lens as completely white, yet when i look at it in store its kinda cream/ivory colour.

L lens are definately a slightly off white/slightly grey colour to them but i don't know why some of the pictures you see have them pure white

I would imagine they just PP the product shots to make them look fancier. Here's a color-corrected version of the above image so this should be damn close to the actual color of the lens.

Have they EVER been pure white as the pictures portray? On Canon's site, all of the zooms appear white, except for the newer 70-200 f4 IS, which has the obvious beige color in the photo. Have they not updated the rest of the photos to show the true color?

check your white balance and take a good gray card ;)
