Think I have ID'd this correctly as the male Winter Moth:

and as the guide states the female is almost wingless I guess this could be the female:

Wing tip clipped in #1 but the series is still very demonstrative. Good detail in both moths. I'm not sure about the ID, but your rationale sounds good. She has wing stubs only. Interesting set!:D

Nice pics RM - but am with Frogger on the wing clipping :(. I seem to recall that someone recently also showed what seemed to be a wingless moth.

Only had the MPE 65 with me and even at lowest mag of 1:1 it appeared in the viewfinder I needed to clip a bit of wing to get all the head in butit seems I had a little room to play with at the bottom. Viewfinder coverage is not 100% of course.
