Timmyquest:
You've got a choice to make.
you can buy every lens in that picture,
-or-
you can retire the national debt.
You just have to decide if you're a patriot or a photographer.

More than $200 000, I'd say. The 1200mm alone costs more than $100 000.

The "Big Guy" is Canon's largest EOS prime lens, a ridiculously huge 1200mm monstrosity. There are only about ten of these things in existence. Sports Illustrated owns two of them. Generally speaking you have to be a major corporation to even think about buying one, as they're individually hand milled in Japan to the tune of about USD$80,000 each.

Outside of the 1200, its about $65,000 for the lot, including the PMA released goodies.
INcluding the 1200, its $145,000. Then you need UV filters. For 50 lenses, at average say $100 per, its another 5k.
So its $150,000, and you're set.

Only $80,000? Shoot. I thought it would be expensive.
That works out to about $2,000 per pound.....not much more than some of their 'lesser' L lenses.

There was a place once that had the 1200mm one you mention for $42K if I remember. That has been since removed. :(

 I couldn't even lift that thing.
Oh c'mon, it is only 40 pounds, about the weight of an average three-year-old child.
- T, oddly building up the credentials to use that lens. "Look! I can lift it AND it is less wiggly than my daughter!"

...told you the one lens was more than the rest combined....... :P
Actually I knew it was about $80,000.00 but I was faaar to lazy to do the math for the other half of the purchase! :)
So with a modest investmet of $65K we could all but one of Canons lenses... of course,. even in my total fantasy list of lenses,. there would be some I would NOT want...
