Software-out with the old, in with the new?

I have recently purchased a Power Shot A630 to replace a stolen A75. Before I load my A630 software, can I safely uninstall all the software for the A 75? I am sure my pictures must be safe in My Pictures but am nervous about them disappearing with the Zoombrowser. Sorry for this newbieish question!

What I'd suggest is to go to Canon's website and download the updated version for the A75. It's the same software, and running the update bundle on an existing install's more reliable than trying to uninstall and then do a fresh install over it.
