Just thought I would share, nothing special, just trying to get a feel for the senior world. A traditional senior who loves "Texas" life. A rainy somewhat cold day, with zero directional light from the sun. So all light you see on the model was done with wireless flash units.

Since I have Not really ever tried to shoot them, I really do not know whats cool and whats not. Also with them being so young I am finding my level of comfort with them, while the look is a model I simple don't treat them the same on many levels.

So again nothing special just thought I would share

#1 - Natural Light - Nice and Soft due to the clouds

#2 - One Wireless flash down low to expose her eyes
http://www.tricoastseniors.com/Post_Pics/bwood/005.jpg

#3 - Two wireless flash units - one on her face and one as a hair light
http://www.tricoastseniors.com/Post_Pics/bwood/003.jpg

#4 - Three wireless flash units, one for her eyes (main), one on the side of her hat and one on the camera for fill
http://tricoastseniors.com/Post_Pics/bwood/008-2.jpg

#5 - Same set up as #4 however the fill flash most likely did not due much do to being so far away from subject.

#6 - Video Light in front - Wireless fill flash in the back

#7 - Natural light with wireless fill flash to make her eyes pop more

#8 - 70-200L IS zoomed in with wireless flash on the side to make her eyes pop

Mike- nice series. When you tell us what flash position, what did you use for a stand for the flash unit?

Assistants :)

Flash on a flash stick (mono-pod) and I tell the assistants where to place the light. Also since there are two of us at TriCoast there is always two of us, one to shoot and one to control the light.

Mike, I'm curious...did the horse react to the flash?

I've been very cautious about using flashes around horses, because I don't want to spook them and hurt somebody. But it would sure help my lighting if I could fill in some of those shadows!

No not with these guys, I could kick them (which I would never do) and they would not move. Big, beautiful gentle giants. Its why I use these guys when it comes to photography and my clients. Your worries are a good one but find the right horse(s) and you should not have a problem

Thanks again for the questions and nice comments.

Yes, #1 is the winner, but they are all very COOL . If I was to have a chance to get senior pictures of me re-done, I would have loved to have these with me in them!
Admire your skill and unique style!

I really like the first 3 with the horse. The grass is a bit distracting in 4 and 5, but still great shots.

hi, what does Canon EOS 10D ,Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
1/250s f/3.2 at 100.0mm iso200

What does this mean? I'm new in the canon world, and not quite understand the language.
