I went out tonight as planned this evening and got my skyline pictures of downtown. I got images as I checked my LCD. I mean to shoot some in RAW and some in JPEG but forgot to switch from RAW to JPEG. How do I view them now. I tried opening the files in photoshop, but no image. I know they are there on the CF card because I checked each exposure after taking it. Duh. I happy that I kept my promise to myself, but it does me no good if I can't view them on my computer. I should be able to convert to JPEG correct?

in photoshop you may need to download the latest camera raw update to view the 30D files. Doesn't take long to download.
As noted above the software provided by the camera will allow you to view and edit your 30D images.

We can all be so Duh! at times.
If you just want to view the images before taking the time to install the Canon software (which I would recommend in any event) there are a number of viewers out there that will work with your raw files. Fast Stone (http://www.faststone.org/) is a free viewer and is very quick. There is a windows viewer for RAW files but I have uninstalled it as it was causing me some troubles but others have reported very good luck with it. Here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=D48E808E-B10D-4CE4-A141-5866FD4A3286&displaylang=en) is the link for it. A quick google on RAW viewer will give you lots of choices.
In order to have photoshop open the CR2 files you first of all need to have CS2 and then download the free update Adobe Camera Raw from here (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html). Any version of photoshop prior to CS2, you must purchase the appropriate files.
Irrespective of which viewer you install you will want to ultimately convert the RAW file to a useable format. This is where the Canon software will come into play.
