Didn't know where to put this image. Just fooling around with my new (secondhand) pocketwizards and the 430EX with omnibounce. This is my mother in her little greenhouse making wreaths for christmas.

Thanks! Even though you'll have to manually set the exposure on the speedlite when using pocketwizards, I don't see it as a major drawback. It takes about one or two testshots and then you're there.

I like this shot a lot. Nice atmosphere, very good composition.

Thanks Wes!

I like this shot. She looks nice and toasty in there working while it looks like could be a little chilly outside.

Thank you all! Had to google Norman Rockwell, and even though I read a little I still haven't figured out why you made such an association? :D But youre right. It's a slice of my mothers life. She loves doing her handcrafting. And youre right Greg. It's actually cold outside but my father has installed a small heater, so it's a cozy and warm place to be. Thanks everybody for commenting!

One of my mothers recet (unconventional) wreaths that I think looks great. All materials collected in the nearby woods:

Thank you all! Had to google Norman Rockwell, and even though I read a little I still haven't figured out why you made such an association? :D

Rockwell specialized in "ordinary" people doing things typical of small-town life. Kids on bikes, grandmothers baking cookies, that sort of thing. He brought us a very idealized view of some of the best parts of America. (Not that the U.S. is unique about these things; where would we be without homemade Danish pastries?!!!)

There's something very warm and cozy about your shot. That's the essence of Rockwell.

And thanks gkuenning for explaining. That makes sence and I'm very proud people make such connections because that's exacly what I feel about the picuture myself. :)
