My wife wants to edit the language file and create a translation for the Russian language. Would this be interesting? If yes, then please tell me how to do this.

You can use UltraEdit to translate the strings.
The php-files for the user interface are in ./languages/eng.
It's quite straigtforward, here is the first line from comment.php:

$translated["rating_1"] = "composition";
You translate the string "composition", and so on for all files.

now, where can i get the latest version of Exhibit Engine or the language files

I do not have a download link anymore because i have been waiting for the final version...
