Had an idea for a bit of a game; post pictures that you think define where you live. Could be a skyline, a famous landmark, or just something that you feel symbolizes where you live.

I thought since this is a very international forum, it would be a good way to see some different parts of the world.

This is the downtown Calgary skyline at sunrise.

This is a part of my city which has been a famous gathering site for decades now. On warm days hundreds to thousands gather round for numerous reasons & it has only stoipped flowing once for a major cleaning as I've heard. BTW I took this while driving.

There isn't much to my home "town." I'm in a touristy, artsy-craftsy community on an island.

Here's a shot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' temple in downtown Salt Lake City. Loosely referred to as the "Mormon" temple.

Great topic.

I live in a little town named Pompton Lakes. Many years ago the boxer, Joe Louis trained here and work was later done to try & get a boxing Hall of Fame established. It never came to fruition, however, the first step was this memorial to Joe Louis which sits perched on the shore of Pompton Lake, the two quintessential symbols of our town.

Since he's from the UK, I don't think he'd be posting photos of the L.A. River. But, speaking of L.A., I think these pretty much sum up our burg...

Is the ferry quicker than going over Deception Bay? I just love that part of Washington State. It's so beautiful.
