I've been doing some experimenting at gettings pictures of birds in flight. Most of the best results are when I use the SERVO focus mode, use the center focus point, put my Canon IS lens in tracking mode (2) and try to follow the bird smoothly.

Anyone else have any tips for this type of shooting with a 10D? I'm going on a Bald Eagle shooting field trip Wed and would be glad to hear of anyone's suggestions. :)

I ususally use go for all 7 focus points in AI Servo to track a bird.. if it is against the sky anyways,. I find it works wonders. You need the full 7 zones to get that predictive AF working.
