I like all of the treatment you did to the image except I hate the edge treatment frame thing..

Does the horizon need a little clockwise rotation?

But I like the "old" look,. and the image itself..

I like the first post best. I do in fact like the edge treatment, with the exception of the shadow on the left and lower portions. With the shadow, what you have is a ragged edge picture hovering a little bit about some surface. That is not what I saw when I first looked at it. For me, I got the sensation of looking through a rectangular tear of a hole into the field. I also like the texturing of the first image much more so than the last, as what I see in the first is a sandy, gritty environment (1930s dust bowl Oklahoma?) which works well with the subject matter.

Keep up the great work.

Ditto.. I too saw it as a ragged frame around the image,. I am most turned off by the size of the border on the right hand side..

Other than the border,. I do like the first image better,.. I really like the grain. The second image is noce,. but it has a bolder contrast,. which makes it very different from the 'aged" look of the 1st example.

Both are great "tweeks" in your image editor. Well done.

I do like the framing treatment in #1, but this would look better used with a vintage silo and barn.

Good job however

Why do you post these large images (3600 pxls). They load very slowly.

:D

I like the treatment too, but not the framing. And something about the fencepost seems wrong?

thanks

This is a good period treatment, the feel is good and is nicely done except for a few aspects.

The border is fuzzy but the image is sharp. There is a shadow present so obviously this a a torn photo, but we end up looking into the photo....
Also, the paper is black. Usually, this would be on white paper.

The whole thing is nice, but confusing to sort out.
Try 'tearing' the image, and then place that on to a torn white paper frame (some parts will exactly match the image, other spots there will be white paper), then add the shadow of the paper. Only the shadow should have any blur to it.

The fence post is disturbing. It's too close to be a part of the image, and it is an obstuction. Get closer so that you can shoot over or though the fence, or stand back so that we can see it is the boundry of the property. The fence post currently blocks some of the building.
