Must be less than 800 pixels square and less than 100kb. That can still upload a nice sized image however!

Ah yes - now that is better!
Both images would benefit greatly from a hairlight - especially the first, as the upper subject's hair blends into the dark background.
The first one the upper gal also looks uncomfortable - maybe try a different pose for them together. And where is the odd spot of bright light coming from on the lower subject's right arm?
The second image is nice. I like the pose and the background.
Keep working at it and posting - you'll get there!

You can bring out the hair on the person standing by bumping levels up some, the pose isn't the greatest but not totally bad. you did a good job on them both.

I like the first image. If you study the tutorials and posts by the member Benji, there are a lot of things you did right.
I have learned a lot about portraits from Benji's writings. Do a search on this forum, if you want to look up his stuff.
The one thing I reacted to, was the hands. Both subjects are female. Still both are showing the "masculine side" of their hands, i.e. the back or the "fist". It's not only that - the "fists" are both close and bright. Thus, the eye is drawn to them.
If you want to see the feminine side of the human hand, do this: Put your hand in front of you - palm up, like you were holding a coin (or whatever). Now, carefully bend your fingers, without entirely closing into a fist, until you see your own finger nails. What you are looking at is the feminine side of your hand.
I guess Benji will slap me on the head of I got this wrong... :-)
Keep up the good work!

for the first picture a hairlight will make a big difference. I see the catch lights coming from camera right and possible a fill light to camera left. If you add a background light it will make a tremendous difference with providing some seperation and adding a third dimension to your subjects. You could either aim it at their backs or the background itself.
Also the DOF seem a little narrow. The models jeans in the back are out of focus. If you stop down to f/8 this would help some
good luck and keep posting
