I just received my D-60 on Friday. I also bought a 75-300 IS lens and a 24-70 2.8 for every day stuff.
This camera is amazing! I sold my Olympus E-10 for this camera. The E-10 was good but many of the images had a somewhat processed digital "look". It's hard to explain but the D-60 produces very film like images. If you push the camera to 1000 ASA you do see some noise but it looks a lot like the grain you would see with high speed film. I took the camera to the Zoo yesterday to try it out. I shot everything using the raw format. I was able to get 30 images on a 256 meg card. I then down loaded these to a Mindstor portable drive. I did'nt notice any lag. The only minor bug that comes with having any digital camera is that it goes to sleep after a few moments and you have to wait for it to "boot" back up.

Yes, but as with the D30, you should be able to change that "sleep" time. I know the D30 can change the sleep time. You will just use more battery. I am glad Canon gave us the option of several times or even turning that feature on or off altogether.

Not to be too nosey or jealous, but where did you get it and, if you don't mind, how much did you pay? Did you get or would you recommend any accesories? Also, I had posted an earlier messgae regarding MindStor. It sound like it works well with the D60?
Good shooting!

At least my D30 "boots up" in half a second after it goes to powersave mode, when I press the trigger halfway down. Slower with D60?

I ordered my camera from Ritz. I received it on March 29th. I paid $2199 for it. I also bought a battery grip for about $159. from B&H photo (on-line). The mindstor has worked without a hitch so far. It also comes in hand for moving files back and forth from work.

You can find a good deal on batteries for the D30/60 at Greenbatteries. They are about 1/2 the price of the canon brand and look the same to me.

I ordered to D60 yesterday from the B&H store in nyc. The clerk said 4 weeks. As they receive them, they ship them out to the pre-orders.
