Went to the beach to celebrate Zeus's 7th birthday - he fetched oodles of sticks into the water. It was an overcast day sometimes with rain so I decided to spice this up with some experimental "70's look" processing.

That's his mom in the photo, I gave her an 8x10 of this as a Mom's Day present from Zeus. I thought it looked much better on my own monitor that it did printed but oh well

So pretty! I love the "talkers." My female rescue I had a few years ago was a talker, and my boy had never once done that (he was 9). That all changed when he saw his new sister "talking" and getting all kinds of attention in return. Within a few days he started vocalizing his expressions!

Panzer is a HUGE talker. He is always making some kind of weird, crazy noise!

I've discovered a flaw in the amazing Image Stabilization (IS) in my fancy new lens - although the image is still sharp at an amazingly low shutter speed it does not compensate for the movement of my hands that will shift the focus at longer focal lengths. For example, from Kimi's eyes down to her nose in the first shot and on the grass in front of her eye in the second. While the shot may be steadied by IS focus still changes when you move.

This is my German Shepherd Mya that I adopted a few years ago directly from her previous owner before she had to be placed in the system. They were moving out of the country and couldn't take her with them. One of our local pet rescues made the arrangements for us to meet and the rest is history!

I made a small video of my Annie from when we first got her. I also got my canon camera at the time too and decided to try it out on the little girls next door too. Video footage is a little shaky because I was not used to it. I think this is about 2 years old. Can't believe I've had Annie for two years and the girls have gotten big too...geesh I feel old!

I'm waiting on my new camera and can't wait to take new video footage/pictures with it.

This is our German Shepherd, Aasha. We wanted to get another dog to help fill the void left by the passing of our 12 year old Australian Cattle Dog. We adopted her from the Animal Shelter. She is about a year and 4 months old and still acts like a puppy.....a 75lb puppy. :)

Found Mila on Craigslist, she's a year old and after four days seems to be a great pet. Here she is discovering the neighbors behind the fence have a dog too.

I just love German Shepherds. I have two and do volunteer work with a Rescue Organization that works with German Shepherds.

Here's a few that are up for adoption that I took.

Money I make from my photography work, I donate to the rescue since they solely rely on donations.

We got 4 GS adopted last week to good homes.

Here's my Maggie... Okay, so maybe she's not a full-blooded German Shepherd, but I think she must be at least half Shepherd, maybe other half Collie, perhaps... Any guesses anyone? She is intelligent, loyal, attentive and playful like a German Shepherd, and has been a really good companion for the last five years.

Here is Gunner. I have had 4 GSD's and prefer solid German bred dogs, though they have a high drive. My grandson gives him a run for his money. He is waiting for me to open the gate so he can go swimming.

Thanks all. He's a gorgeous (and very mischevious) boy. Oh, and one heck of a guard dog. It's a constant dominance struggle. Would have made a terrific police dog. Our last Shepherd was the complete opposite.

Thanks but she's actually not mine! I was on a mini vacation over the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend and this pup belonged to the owners of the resort. They're lucky I didn't kidnap her though ;P
