Thanks all!

It's a great camera. I have lot's to learn though!

I am not a huge coffee drinker. I love it on a cold day though. Not much better than warming up with hot coffee from Starbucks.

No IS. I was shooting with the 24 - 70L. I debated on whether to get this lens or one with IS. I think I am going to enjoy this one though. Hopefully, I won't get the jitters LoL.

Okay, I am sure I am missing something here, but what's the duck? I didn't see one while I was drinking my latte LoL.

Best,
Chuck

Great camera! Just don't drink too much Starbucks coffee unless you have an IS lens mounted on it :)

make sure you are in single shot mode after the coffee

....as for the duck....the tradition is as follows: any person who buys a new camera or lens (particularly the 70-200) is required to take a least one "test" shot of a duck, and post it. :)

Well, I am not the original poster, but I was not aware of this tradition. I feel as if I have neglected my duty. Therefore, here is a shot I took about a week after I got my 30D in September.

I am going down the lake to see if any ducks have ventured out into the cold :)

Guess I better go look for a duck!

So, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and sounds like a duck...

where is the duck??!

Maybe time for a new tradition?

I think it might be easier these days to find a starbucks than find a duck!!!

...then take a picture of it....and leave it up to us to identify it!

Man, I live in NYC. It's tough to find ducks in a pond...guess I could try Central Park.

What are the chances of a duck flying into my backyard?

What about a pigeon? Acceptable?

I'm telling you...we should start a Starbucks traditions.

I guess then all of our pics would look the same...ok I guess stick with the ducks then!

KAS

We could strike a committee to determine the acceptability of a pigeon given your circumstances... I'd vote yay, as long as at least 2 separate pigeons were posted. From what I remember, 1 duck = 2 pigeons.

At KFC, 2 pigeons = 1 chicken. :D

Ugh...No more KFC for me!

2 pigeons?
OK, ok...but 2 different looking ones?
Oh man, that's going to be a challenge. They all look the same here!

Time to break out the bread crumbs...maybe I'll get dozens of them to fly down to my backyard!

So what's the exchange rate for Starbucks? How many starbucks signs = 1 duck? :)

Starducks are extremely rare. In fact, they only pass near the earth once every 23 years. The next Starduck passes in May of 2018. So get your teles ready!
