He seemed a little reluctant to come in but we finally coaxed him in. (Man did this thing ever need a bath!!!)

*gasp!* JEALOUS! I have always wanted a pet skunk. What a lucky girl. Tell her not to use perfume or air fresheners, k? Ironically, skunks have sensitive nosies (and lungs)!

She found Pepe Lepew!
What are the odds that someone actually guessed his name? Maybe on the other hand, how many pet skunks are NOT named Pepe?
He is a very playful little guy. Loves to "fight". He will turn around and aim the "big gun" at you, but he's firing blanks. I think it's a bluff anyway. She is absolutely in love with him.

Just what you've always wanted for a pet. Nice shot of your niece and the "cat."

Thank you. I wondered if anyone would comment on the quality or composition of the photo. I kind of like it for one that I just grabbed the camera and shot.

Skunks make excellent pets. I had a neighbor farmer who raised them and gave them to people he knew could take care of it. Believe it or not, he had several that were not de-scented, and they never sprayed anyone.
This is quite a shot. :)

Thank you. I believe it. This one is de-scented, but, has anyone seen the episode of Mythbusters where they were experimenting with "skunk remedies"? Those guys did everything they could to get sprayed, even with skunks that had been caught in the wild. No matter what they did, the skunks would not spray. They finally had to use a simulated skunk scent.

Haha! I remember watching that episode and laughing at the irony of their effort. There are skunks all over the place here and they WILL spray you if you don't ignore their little foot stomp ritual. And most of the time they won't even warn you! We sell 5 or 6 different kinds of skunk remedy for cats and dogs at my work (and often sell out).
If I had a pet skunk though (glands removed, of course), I think I would name it Kitty. :D

Kitty - I love it!
What keeps going through my mind when I think of that Mythbusters episode is, somebody makes fake skunk scent!!??... AND SOMEBODY BUYS IT!!! (Only in America)

I was sprayed when I was a kid in so. Indiana, my cousins hit this skunk with a stick as I (a stupid kid from so.California) was trying to "pet the nice Kitty" and let me tell you , that Cat gave us both Barrels and Sad to say I was petting it already, since I have had several very close encounters and never even worried about it again, thay know when they are threatend, nice Capture though. (can anyone say.....Tomato juice bath)? D.

Does the tomato juice bath work though? I thought that was one of the ones that Jamie & Adam "debunked". For the life of me I can't remember what it was that did work.
