What's the best video editing software out there that i could use on a Windows system? I have absolutely no financial limitations, so does anyone have any ideas?

Adobe Premier is probably the top one out there, and also a little pricey at close to $1,000
If you're just starting, another option might be Premier Elements for about $100

Avid Xpress Studio. It is not meant for home movie guy but more for the serious videographers. It's like Adobe and Pinnacle are P&S and Avid a SLR. Has a learning curve but capable of just about anything you want. It's not cheap though but you said price is no object.

For the PC you have Sony Vegas+DVD Production Suite ($525) and Premiere Pro for $849, and the production studio standard for $1199 (this is the best value as it comes with After Effects standar and Photoshop CS2), then you have the Production Studio Premium for
$1699 which adds Adobe Encore, Illustrator, Audition and gives you After Effects Pro.
We have the Premium since we use Encore, After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop, but, we got all that with our hardware editing card, the Matrox RTX.100 for $1400 ($1000 for the Matrox card and Adobe Standard and $400 to upgrade to Premium).

I have used vegas and premiere on and off for different things over the yrs, vegas is by far the easier program for someone with little to no experience.
Premiere has best industry support.

In case you're not convinced yet, Adobe Premiere Pro is the one you want. :)
