Hi
I'm using XP, Adobe premiere 6 and a Digital Ixus (S110?). Pemiere does not recognise the Canons avi files when I try to open them. All my other programs like Ulead Movie factory, Windows media player can play the files. Why is this? Do I need a codec plugin or something for Premiere?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Hope this helps. I don't know what you are trying to do with your AVI's, but I wanted to open to generate a thumbnail of the image. Was able to do so by telling it to grab just a few frames. This worked for me and solved my issues, but may not solve yours. Good luck.

Yes, you need to install a codec in your machine for M-Jpeg - I use the Morgan Multimedia codec and can thoroughly recommend it... available from:

http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/

Hi,
No need to install any Codec. Juse rename the extension of your file to mpg and it would work!!
Sounds strange? - visit Adobe knowledge base for confirmation.
