I have seen many great images of wildlife and plants, and it seems to mee that some people are always posting new pictures all the time of new shots. i was just wondering if any of you guys/gals happen to be biologists or botanists by chance? i have always had an interest in the outdoors and am finally taking steps to make it my life, with changing my major to more or less to become a wildlife biologist. so if any of you are, do you have any suggestions or regrets? thank you all for your input it is greatly appreciated.

None of the above. ; )
Went from being a Police Chief to currently finishing up my degree as a mammalogist. Think biologist who specializes in mammals. In my case I have spent the last two years specializing in the carnivores of North America, all as a result of taking a series of images involving a wild fox on Mount Rainier...

No regrets whatsoever.
Also, if you are looking at becoming a wildlife biologist, consider a membership in The Wildlife Society.

Great way to obtain research papers in their monthly publications. Be sure to look up the student rates. They also do career level certification, something of value when it comes to obtaining researchh grants.
Still working on where I will be obtaining my PhD.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add...
Spend lots of time in Yellowstone. The best place in the world (imho) to observe wildlife in their natural environment.

thank you very much, i looked at your web page and that is the direction of life i want to go, after being in the USAF for 4 years and 2 to go i know i want to get back to my roots of being in the mountains( i am from Great Smokey Mountain NP, TN) but for right now the only wildlife i see in NJ is what is on the side of the road no longer moving, and defiantly not a thing here in Iraq, LOL. defiantly going to look into the wildlife society membership. as of right now i am kinda starting at the begining of the road but reading as much about wildlife and plants and doing my own research(basically reading anything onlie) as i can so when the time comes to start class and work on completly at least a masters i will be somewhat knowledgable. once again thank you.
