I just recieved this camera for Christmas, just to carry in my purse for pictures of the kids, but about 90% of my pictures have horrible red eye. I have tried the different flash settings, but they are all the same. Is there anything I can do or should I just take it back and get a different camera. I want a really small compact one. Any suggestions on different ones, if I need to?
Thanks
Sandy

Unfortunately the only way to avoid red-eye with flash is to get the flash further away from the lens so you don't get reflection off the retina back into the lens. If Redeye reduction doesn't do the job, you might get better results with an off-camera digital slave flash. But almost any P&S wilhave this problem, especially with very young kids.

Thanks, I expected some red-eye, but didn't realize it would be 90%.
thanks for the reply.

I attended a photo class a few years back, and the instructor told us that a piece of Scotch Magic Tape placed over the flash would reduce the instance of red eye. I suppose it would be worth a try.
