I have read many reviews and done a search of this forum, and it seems as though these two noise reduction programs are the top choices. So, now what do you all think? Which do you use? Have you ever been able to compare both head to head? I am probably leaning toward Noise Ninja simply because many reviews have said it is noticeably faster than Neat Image, while the results are nearly identical. Any thoughts or comments would be welcome.

I bought NI first and then NN when it came out. NN is much faster than NI, and it's quite a bit easier to use. It's also cheaper for the home version, except that it won't do batch files. As for image quality, I can see no difference at all between them.

Yep. That's the stripped down version, but there was nothing in the pay versions I really needed. For free, it's the best noise reduction there is. I was really impressed with the results after just a few minutes of playing around. I really should read the manual, though. :D

I think I heard that neat image is not Mac compatible. Is that fact? Is Noise Ninja Mac friendly?

Randall,

I just looked on both websites, and neither is Mac compatible now, but both say that a Mac version is "under development". Exactly what that means remains to be seen...
