I'm just going to keep posting as I take the pics and edit them throughout the day. I wanted to see how much of an improvement there was in eliminating noise in the latest model. I also never see long exposures from the 1D when I search the net, pbase, etc (usually only sports photos). So here we go.
First set:
ISO 1600, F/22, 3.2 Seconds, White Balance 2800, 50mm F/1.8 Nifty Fifty
100% Crops

I will post more later, some night time long exposure shots

^^Black dots here (on white wood panelling) are due to my dirty sensor :)

800 is about where I stop using the 1D. Anything above that really is useless in my never to be humble opinion. Though on these the mk II isnt looking all that swell either. Do you have noise reduction for long ezxposure turned off by any chance?

On the full view of the 1D... notice the purple bleeding in on the top corners. I believe that's from the CCD getting hot. Now in between each shoot (post with pictures) the camera sat idle, on OFF... and the CCD was not used (not heated up).. Pretty bad at 30 seconds.

Yeah, NR is on for both cameras on all shots

Is it me or do the 1D shots have a slight green cast to them?

Yeah, they do when shot in JPEG... You can upload new tone curves to the 1D Classic to fix that

Just interested to know your opinion on this...previously I've read opinions that the 1D and 1Ds produced images that were more film-like compared to images from their newer siblings or other newer cameras.
There were also some raving that the 1D should have better dynamic range because it does indeed have larger pixels.
Based on your use of both these cameras at this stage, would you be able to comment on differences in color and dynamic range?
Just curious...
