Paul;
I'm glad you were able to create some good memories of your pet & friend. My wife and I had a poodle for 16 years and now have a 15 month old Jack Russell Terrier. All I can say is "Pets are People Too".

Thanks for the comment Craig, "Pets are people too". I totally agree with you. 16 years is a long time. I only wish I could have had him that long. I was lucky enough to have him for 9 though.

My sympathies, Paul.
I've lost a dog and 2 cats, and I know your pain.
They were members of the family and are always remembered but never replaced.

Your Pets In Heaven
by Ken D. Conover
To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.
For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.
For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.
I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.
Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures.
I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever.
You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Paul, so sorry for your loss, especially during the holidays. This is a difficult time for you, but you will always have so many wonderful and happy memories of the times you had together. Nothing, not even death, can ever take those away. Thanks for sharing the beautiful shots of your friend.

Thank you Polo. I've got another one like him that is 6 months younger than he was that is very healthy, although, he has never been without another dog in his life. Needless to say, he's having as hard a time as my family since I got back without his buddy. :(

I feel your loss Paul. I too have lost a few friends and I have honored them by putting their names on the Rainbow list. Now they have an extended family and know they are in a good place. Always in our thought. Chong, Taffy and Brandy.

So sorry to see about your loss.
Dogs are incredible creatures, they never speak a word but they "say" everything. I have lost two friends in the past, and still miss both. One after 23 years and the other 7 years ago.
I have Oskar now, a 6 year old shetland Sheep dog, mad as a hatter, and sometimes wish he would slow down or stop barking, but then think that in older age this will happen to him anyway, so change my mind and enjoy his youth with him :)
When we had our last dog put to sleep at the vets we cried soo much that the vet nurse cried along with us!
Time is a great healer, but you will never forget.

So sorry to hear of your loss, Paul. Dogs are such special part of our lives and leave such an empty space when they are gone. He looks like a beautiful boy.

So sorry for your loss - totally understand what you are going through (and what everyone goes through). We lost our 15 year old lab nearly 18 months ago and still miss him dreadfully every day.
You will always have your memories and you have got some lovely photos too.
