Hi,
I've just bought an X's-Drive Pro but before I take it out for a day's shooting I'd like to know how long I can expect the battery to last. Do any of you have any experience of this piece of kit? How many CF cards can you copy before the battery gives up?
Thanks,
/Phil.

I ran mine playing MP3s to see how long before it died. I got very close to 2 hours out of it. I would expect that it would give you close to that on copying the memory cards since the hd is always spinning anyways. Also with the memory trasfers you shut it off after you are done. Mine averages about 3 minutes(I think) to transfer a 256MB card full of RAW images.

Thanks Ovi. So, if I take that average of 3 minutes per card it equates to 40 cards before the battery runs out. I'm guessing that spinning up the drive each time will cause some drain too but that should still leave me with (rough guess) about 20-25 256MB cards. That should be more than enough shots for one day. I might even try shooting RAW.
Thanks again for the help,
/Phil.
