Anyone know of a bracket that would hold the camera and a lens? Looking for something so I could distribute the wieght of the camera and a lens on one bracket connected to a tripod.

What exactly are you trying to do? Lenses that are heavy enough to have a lens collar have the collar positioned in such a way as have fairly neutral balance around the tripod mounting point on the collar (it can't be perfect, as different bodies are different masses). You don't need to do anything extra for optimum weight weight distribution, though if you use Arca Swiss quick release and a suitable Arca Swiss plate on the collar's tripod foot, you can adjust for neutral balance.

However, there may be an need for extra stabilisation for the body. In that case, the Manfrotto 359 (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/accessories/359.shtml) may be your answer.

With your 100-400 just attach the tripod to the collar on the lens. That way you're supporting the heaviest component. It's not going to hurt your camera, or lens mount,to have the camera hanging off the lens unsupported.

I checked out the Manfrotto. But that wont do. I want to be able to use the set up on my telescope for astrophotography also. and with a bracket/plate I could better balance the wieght of the 2 on my scope.
