Does anyone on here use Go Daddy for the web hosting and if so how do you like there service. If you don't use Go Daddy what do you use?

I don't use them for my web hosting (I use pbase for that) but I have my domain name registered through them and use that to redirect to where I have my site hosted. Good prices, good service, they even give you periodic follow-up calls. Highly recommended.

I use GoDaddy for domain registration and SSL certificate and I am very pleased. There tech support is first rate. I can't speak for their web hosting, for which I currently use eapps.com since I need JSP support on a shared server. I have also had good experiences with 1and1.com and ev1servers.net if you are looking for a few to compare with.

I bought my domain from them and a little while later I bought hosting through them, found it alot easier than dealing with the free web space I got from my ISP ( I had a tough time re-configuring the name servers after a domain name change - with no help from SHAW - and just gave up and paid for hosting through godaddy to make it a simple process) . I've been using them for not quite a year and have no complaints at all so far. Thier service is good and I find the whole thing quite user friendly. I created my own site and upload it all via ftp. I use and have used GoDaddy for a while now. I design, build and maintain sites for myself and clients and find their service outstanding. Support is quite good, pricing is excellent. I recommend GoDaddy!

Interesting, I had a couple clients a while back that used godaddy when they had just gotten into hosting and they were terrible. Looks like that might have changed for the better since then.

Way too many ads, and an annoying control panel. I recommend http://dreamhost.com/hosting.html Very cheap with the right promo code, more bandwidth and hard drive space than you will ever need, free domain, admins that keep you informed and a decent control panel or ssh access if you are like me.

Most of the people I know that used to run their own domains from home now use dreamhost.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. GoDaddy has an easy, comprehensive control panel, competetive pricing, tons of bandwidth, great support from English speaking representatives that are in the US. I couldn't ask for better service or support. I've been using them for the last 3 years without one problem or complaint.

I'm using Smugmug now, but plan to switch to Bluehost in the near future. I see a lot of positive comments about them from wedding professionals. Another consideration would be Miller's Lab, who do both web hosting and order fulfillment.

I am with 1and1 and love them, registered and parked with godaddy in the past.

Sounds good.
But what do you call "Very cheap"?
And where do you get these promo codes? :)

My current web hoster set 10 Mb limit per mailbox. :( All the rest is Ok. But anyway I am going to find another one.

I am a Godaddy reseller http://regtld.com so I actually make money by selling godaddy products. However I really think that dreamhost with the right promo code is a much better deal for just about anyone. It is possible to pay US$22.40 for 12 months hosting including a domain name and it really is a good service. i don't think any looking around will find a better deal on shared hosting.

Not on your site, I am refering to the inhouse ads they put on anything. Try buying a domain name and count the number of times the average user sees a godaddy cross promotion.

I hosted my domain with them and it comes with a free 5gb free hosting with advertisements. I'm not sure how long the free one last but it's pretty good.

It comes with Coppermine gallery that you can configure to your liking.

Here's the site

I'm also a godaddy reseller. Their domain registration is probably the best around. They will register instantly and you have full control of the domain through the control panel.

As for hosting, it depends on what you want your level of experience. The GoDaddy control panel can be restricting if you are wanting to do anything advanced. GoDaddy also tends to be unwilling to change settings on your service to help you get scripts set up. If you want something pretty basic and don't think you will be installing a lot of scripts GoDaddy works really well. They have a lot of preinstalled and ready-to-install scripts. GoDaddy's system is also really slow at setting up subdomains, aliases and databases.

If you are looking for a little more control over your hosting service go with cPanel hosting. I use Host Gator. Their system sets up subdomains, aliases and databases instantly. Also they do not charge you for extra email accounts the way GoDaddy does.
