I was out on the west coast of Scotland a few days ago with Dimitri and Scottie, and here is my version of Turnberry Lighthouse.

John, your shot gives a good view of the landscape and what it's like to be there. It has a pleasing natural feel to it. I like it.

How on earth did you manage to post this one 22 hours ago and i never saw it,its beyond me.
I know the sky was nothing to scream about that day but the fg interest is worth alot.
I hope the new year will get us to new places with good weather.;)

Looks like the three of you had a good trip, Nice comp and I like the way the lighter parts of the sky reflect off the water.

Thanks Dimitri. When I posted my thread, the page turnaround was about 2-3 hours, so it quickly fell off the bottom.

The location wasn't too bad - shame about the weather/light though.

We certainly had a good time together, and I got to play with Dimitri's 5D which has spoiled me a bit now as I definitely want one.
Nice one John :)

Thanks Scottie. When are you posting some of yours to see? ;)

Yeah, I like the luminescence of the bright light on the water, too. Hey, at least the sky wasn't completely overcast. You still have some nice contrast in the clouds. The colors on the rocks are very interesting. I wonder how they'd look with sunlight on them.

This would look good up on the wall, I think you did a fantastic job. Did you take multiple exposures?

Thank you Jim. That area of the coastline has lots of interesting bits to photograph, and with a free coffee at Dimitri's, I'm sure that I'll be back again. ;)

Thank you very much. I just took the one exposure, but processed the raw file, once for the sky, and once for the land and then combined the images.
