I have a 15 year old EOS 10 with 35/105 and 75/300 lenses. However, now that the price of decent digital cameras has come down sufficiently it's time to move on.

I have looked at the spec for the Powershot Pro 1 and it looks quite impressive. So I am tempted to buy one. However, another option would be to buy a Digital Rebel body and use my original EF lenses.

But will my orginal lenses do the Digital Rebel justice?. I expect that lens technology has move on in recent years. The write up on the Powershot Pro Lens is quite formidable.

Opinions please?

I say gt the Rebel.. with the kit lens (18-55mm) and you will have form 18mm - 300mm covered for starters.

Yes,. your Digital Rebel will definately "appreciate" some better glass than both the lenses you currently own,. and the kit lens fo rthat matter..

..but that should in no way deter you from going for the Drebel.

You will be able to take fantastic pictures wiht all of the above lenses.. they do not need to be cutting edge state of the art,.. as they will work perfectly with any EOS camera.

The Drebel will blow away the Pro1

Go for it.
