Both shots were near my home at a small pond in NY. 100-400mm on a 20D. Please feel free to post sugestions for improvement. I need all the help that I can get.

Nice image of the Merganser, though I would have liked more room on the left. It's much nicer than any merganser image I have, to date.

The Merganser was cropped a bit, Heron was not. I boosted the saturation a bit and reduced the noise in the Merganser with a filter in PS.

Arent the mergansers pretty shy birds to begin with?

Both are very nice. The merganser looks a lot like a shot I took yesterday. I would sharpen it a bit and more room to the left would be nice. It should look excellent then. Nice reflection. The heron is also very nice, sharp and I love the water. Looks like a painting. Good job!
