Hi,
All of my plugins show up in my filter drop down list in Editor. Some of them I don't use, and was wondering if someone knew how to remove them from the list? I have removed them from my plugins folder, but they still show up in my filter list. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

I think this is how you do it...

In c:\programfiles\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 4.0\Previews\Cache\Filters Cache...

Delete all three .che files... these will be rebuilt the next time you open Elements...

I'm using Elements 3.0, I'm thinking it should be the same... to be safe, though, back up those .che files just in case (they're not big)

I tried you method too David but to no avail. I've even tried searching through the Registry and can't seem to locate the entries for removal. Maybe a reinstall would take care of it.

Try deleting the Effects Cache folder too... and when you do this, make sure Elements is closed before deleting, and reopen after. If I get time, I'll try it out myself, too to see what happens.

The Nik plugins you need to remove from control panel -> add Remove programs

Maybe start-up in "safe mode" and then go in and delete all the files you want to remove? Just an idea. After deleting, do a search of all files and see if there are any left to delete. Before doing any of this, I suggest you set a new restore point. If you don't know how to do a safe mode start, you might get the same results by removing the entire Elements folder and placing it on the desktop, restarting, then remove, restart, put back in programs folder, restart again.

My two cents. I haven't tried it with Elements, but it has worked on other programs where I've had similar issues.
