...Empire State Building.

I thought I shot it pretty damn straight for a hand shot. What do you guys think. You see the gap between the buildings.

Over 30 views and not one comment. I'd really like some criticism please.

I don't think it looks straight at all. It looks like it needs to go about 5.25 degrees clockwise to me.

It's a nice subject though, and your choice of b/w works nicely.

A good effort I would say. Well exposed, good contrast not too much sky (since its is just white). It is leaning, but I assume that you meant it to be that way for dramatic purposes.

I am not sure about the focus though, I think the foreground buildings are sharper than the Empire State. Did you focus a little forward? If so, was it also to give drama. For me this doesn't work so well, I think the main subject needs to be the sharpest thing in this case.

Your right the gap between the Empire State and the building on the right is nice and even and quite impressive for a handheld camera. Ofcourse some might say there is no requirement that it be handheld so why not use a tripod?
I like the composition with darker buidlings on both sides. The composition to me seems simple and strong.
Could there have been a more interesting composition? I don't know.

What I really liked was the darker crisp buildings in front of the Empire State Building. And the ESB was still in focus. Not too blurry. I also like the fact that I didn't have to crop anything at all.
All I had to do was resize a copy so I can post it here.

As soon as I get my 10D I'll shoot that same picture again. I'm curious to see the differences from my G5.

Thanks for the comments,
Tito
