I have just recently replaced my Treo 650 with the new Black Motorola Q. Has anyone else in the community here made the switch?

What were your reasons for the switch?

Are you pleased with the switch?

My reason for switching was due growing tire of the touch screen and frequent random auto-reboots of my Treo. The battery life on the Q is not near as good as the Treo but it has improved drastically with daily use.

How do you use your Q?

I use my Q to be in touch with work email and personal email as well as keeping track of my crazy schedule. The Treo & Q have proved to both be great devices and valuable to my daily producitivy.

Best Regards,

-Frankie

No way. I wouldn't go near it. For the cost difference, the Treos are WAY more user friendly and fun/easy to use. As for your "auto-reboots" on your 650, I don't know what that's about. I've had my treo for around 2 years, and never have I needed to reset it, and it never did it itself.

The Treo will auto reboot if it encounters an unrecoverable error. There is something wrong with the Treo and it needs to be serviced. That is not a feature.

I like my Treo 650, however it does regularly (once a week) reboot when I delete a text message, nobody can explain why! Perhaps I need a Motorola Q as well :D

LOL I once said the same that I would never go near a Winodws Mobile product.

I made the plunge on the Q, but it did not cost me anything. I had a few broken Treo's lying around that I off loaded to people looking for parts.

So far I am satisfied with the Q, the one thing that I do not like is that it did not come with a note or memo program like the Treo. I find that to be a big minus since I keep lots of notes and memos on my mobile device.

I still will keep my 650 on standby should I get tired of the Q.

Thanks for your responses!

I got to check out a MotoQ a while back when one of my friends got one from work for a few weeks. The Q is quite nice and has some nice features like voice dialing and such, but it just wasn't for me.

I'm currently a Treo650 owner which is working out pretty good but I've always been a fan of Windows Mobile so when this one kicks the bucket, I'll most likely upgrade to the 700p or whatever latest flavour is out. Just something about PalmOS I don't really feel for.

Oh, and about the reboots... I have no idea why that would be happening for you guys. I've never had mine do that to me unless it was provoked by me (out of space, programs crashing...) Maybe check to see if you have the latest firmware from Motorola and give that a go.
