I like the BG also... Did you buy it or did you make it?

Thank you. That is a posing screen. I purchased it from www.backdropoutlet.com They had it in black wood or oak, but a search this morning only shows the oak. I just put up a colored light to get the color I want for the back.

Here is a pic from their website

Nice shots. You could call the series "Sexy Top and Six Guns A'Blazin'" Isn't it nice to have willing participants at home to help us out.

The colored gel on the screen was a cool idea. What other lights were you using?

Funny, I used to have a couple of those screens in my aprtment back in the 80's, but then they were used for decoration and you could get them at furniture stores. I may have to pick one up again if I can find it in black. It can make for a nice background.

Nice shots. Happy New Year!

I had a main light to my right, a cold reflector just out of sight on her right side to soften the shadow, and a hair light, which I feel is a little too hot on the shot of my wife.

Love the shot of your wife. She has a wonderful expression - really beautiful, well captured. The blow-out in the hair does not bother me but I know some on this forum will freak.

I think this shot could work really great with a tighter crop on that wonderful face. I like the rest of the photo a lot - but I keep being distracted from her face. :)

The shot of your son is priceless don't change anything. Great work - beautiful family and you really know how to use a camera, how lucky can one get?

Could not see these when I commented earlier. I think you cropped a bit too tight on the shoulders and cutting off the fingertips on one hand and loosing 3 of 4 knuckles on the other may have been a poor choice. Still a very attractive photo.

And here I jumped in a ruined a photo op, but I like standing closer to her!

Its my personal taste but I find your wife more attractive than you! Still I think this is a great shot, you look wonderful together. Just a pity the world was on a tilt when you took the shot. Maybe the photographer got too enthusiastic about getting close to his model to notice? (Hint: Look at the background).
Oh and I like your lighting too!
